I'm writing this and I want you to know, I'm wearing my buffalo shirt and clutching Ian's baseball championship trophy, and I'm totally envisioning an academy award type of scenario in my head.
This week was a challenge. Kind of an emotional roller coaster. So without going into the boring specific details I'd like to give a shout out to the following people who helped me get through this week(ish). I hope I don't forget anyone...
Michelle (H) for letting me have a good cry and a hug on Sunday. You get me. Or you fake it well.
Michelle (W) for listening to me vent about school issues (technically this was last week but really....it's all blending together) and for always giving solid mom advice. You are my mom mentor
Rachel for making me laugh. ALL. THE. TIME. You have no idea how awesome you are. Also for making Molly's birthday cake and for softball duty!!!
Jenni (H) for taking my sick flu ass to the hospital to be with Ian, for not questioning my need to be there, and for providing a full box of pepto bismal chewables, ibuprofen, and Sprite. Above and beyond the call of duty.
Gwen - who texted me and checked up on me and offered help in any and all areas. For those of you who don't know, Gwen kept me sane this summer which was a huge task and has earned her a special place in my heart not to mention she is my total craft fair partner in crime.
Jenni (S) for picking up Molly and having to be the one to tell her Ian was in the hospital. It's such a gift to know there is someone who the kids know and are very comfortable with, who can step in and pick up your kids when you can't be there.
Dad - for jumping in the car and driving down to our house to watch the kids and for making dinner and keeping an eye on Ms. Drama Queen Jr.
Mom - for arranging things so Dad could come down here and for sending a the care package for the hospital which was a total lifesaver in a HUGE way....b/c apparently there IS a limit to how much time a little boy will want to play video games while in a hospital bed.
Molly - <insert sob> who broke into tears when she heard Ian was in the hospital and desperately wanted to visit him ASAP. She then printed off a bunch of 'how to draw' sheets from the internet that Ian LOVED and kept him happily occupied for well over an hour.
Zoey - who once Ian got home did not want to leave his side.
Emmy - who as you know, is often stuck up my ass. When we came home from the hospital, she didn't run to see me....she screamed Ian over and over again and ran to him. She loves her e-i.
Sarah - who stopped by the hospital after work to visit us.
For my father in law Ken who also offered to drop everything and come down and help with the kids. Also Ryan's mom Carol who offered the same.
Shout outs to Ryan's family who all called to see how Ian was doing!
And for the following: Michelle (N), Mrs. Bradley, Amy (K), Rebekah, Becca, Alice, Joe, Christy, Sarah (I), Julie (S) and Julie (V) and oh my God, I know I'm missing someone and the music is playing and I need to finish or they'll escort me off! All my buffalos, I love you!
Oh and Ryan, my husband! He didn't argue my need to be at the hospital, or to camp out in the chair right by Ian's bed, or my need to be the one to spend the night. I married an amazing man who gets me, makes me laugh, makes me still feel like a hot mama and who more than once held me this week during an exhausted stress induced meltdown.
Seriously - this was a tough week and we feel very very blessed to have the friends that we do.
