It was a beautiful Indian summer day yesterday. The temps were in the 70s, the sun was out, there was a good steady breeze...it was a BEAUTIFUL day. I knew rain and a cold front were headed out way last night so I took full advantage of the great weather. I opened windows, I drove with the sunroof open, and I made Molly spend 15 minutes outside.
And indeed the rain moved in sometime during the night. Oh and how it rained for hours. In fact, it's still raining. Since the wind is blowing and it's pouring, I got in the car to take the kids to the bus stop. As I got into the van, I realized the wind was still blowing and it was still pouring. "Oh crap." Looking up I could see the sun roof still wide open. Yep. This brilliant idiot left the sunroof open and when Ryan locked up the van, he didn't check. No reasons for him to check since I ALWAYS shut the sunroof. Except last night. When hours of rain were forecasted.
Thankfully I wore pajamas to the bus stop so although my butt/pjs soaked up water from the seat, it didn't really matter since I was just going back home anyways. The kids were good sports and helped me wipe up some things and approached the whole thing with just the right attitude - a little humor and a lot of helping. And then I called Ryan, who rolled with it and offered advice on soaking up the water.
I gotta tell you, I need to fix this sleeping problem soon! At least the inside of the van is nice and clean now. Smells like 'fresh rain' in my van,
